Hammer & Hail, the free weekly heavy metal zine and hammerandhail.com, is now taking press releases from record labels, PR firms, promoters and independent bands.
Who should submit
Record labels, PR firms and publicists, promoters and booking agents, and independent bands with new release news: singles, albums, EPs, videos, crowdfunding campaigns and tours.
Where features appear
Hammer & Hail comes out every Friday. Selected press releases are featured at the top of the Coming Soon page and in a Featured Press card on the homepage. After a record comes out, it moves to New Releases.
A recent example: HARTLIGHT’s single “The Golden Egg” (feat. Noa Gruman), sent to us by Metal Message. The feature included the band’s story, the official video, and links to Kickstarter, Spotify and Bandcamp.
What to send
- Artist, release title, format and release date
- Label, plus genre and “for fans of” (FFO) comparisons
- Official video link
- Spotify and Bandcamp (or other official listen/buy) links
- Press-use artwork and a band photo cleared for publication
- A press contact for follow-up and interview requests

Coverage is free. Hammer & Hail does not sell paid placement or sponsored coverage. All features are chosen at editorial discretion, and sending a release does not guarantee coverage.
