ABOUT

CARNAL GHOUL owe their existence to a meeting of two kindred spirits at the Party.San Metal Open Air and an undisclosed amount of beer. Guitarist Daniel Jakobi (LAY DOWN ROTTEN, MILKING THE GOATMACHINE, DEMONBREED) and drummer Stefan “Husky” Hüskens (DESASTER, SODOM, ASPHYX) bonded over their love of old school death metal and the classic Swedish sound. The first four songs were released as the 7″ and MCD The Grotesque Vault in 2013, and with second guitarist Fernando Hermansa, bassist Johannes Pitz and vocalist Sven Groß (FLESHCRAWL) the band played Summer Breeze Open Air and Party.San Metal Open Air.

Sven Groß lost his battle with cancer in 2021. The band finished their debut in his honor with guest vocalists including Dave Ingram, Martin van Drunen, Marc Grewe, Paul Speckmann, Leif Jensen, Felix Stass and Lenny Osterhus, and Back from the Vault came out in 2022 to praise from fans and media. ENDSEEKER vocalist Lennart “Lenny” Osterhus has since joined permanently.

Songwriting, production and a renewed focus on their own sound have resulted in a massive album of furious death metal with a knack for brutal hooks and cunning melodies.
